The gospel

Becoming a Christian

The gospel is for everyone. If you are not yet a Christian, the New Testament shows the way in plainly:

Step 1

Hear the Word

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. We open the Bible together in every class and service.

Step 2

Believe

Believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and that He died for your sins and was raised again.

Step 3

Repent

Turn from sin. Repentance is a change of heart that leads to a change of life.

Step 4

Confess

Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, before God and before others.

Step 5

Be baptized

Be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins. In baptism the Lord adds you to His church and you rise to walk in newness of life.

Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Acts 2:38

After baptism

First steps for a new Christian

The Lord adds the baptized believer to His church. Here is how the new life begins.

Keep growing in the Word

New Christians in Acts 2 continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine. Study the Bible on your own and with the church.

Pray often

God is your Father now. Bring Him your thanks, your needs, and your struggles in prayer each day.

Meet with the church

Worship with us on Sunday and study with us on Wednesday. The church is a family, and you are part of it now.

Live faithful

Walk in newness of life. When you stumble, confess your sin and ask the Father for forgiveness, and keep walking.

The study

Welcome to the Family of God

A study for the newly baptized, showing what God did for you when you obeyed the gospel and how to walk faithfully from here.
